[COVID-19] Guidance for traveling and hosting



At NiaHomes, the safety of our guests and hosts is our number one priority.

While the biggest appeal of homestay is that you can meet locals and get in touch with the local culture, it is now very important to travel carefully to reduce the risk of infection.

In order to ensure a safe and secure stay for all our guests and hosts, we ask for your cooperation in taking the following measures.

■ To NiaHomes Guests ■

During your stay, please..

・wear a mask in shared areas.

・use hand sanitizer frequently if you have it or when available at your accommodation.

・cooperate with your host if other infection prevention measures are in place at your accommodation.

・please inform your host immediately if you are not feeling well.


【Please refrain from traveling in the following cases】

If you or anyone living with you:

・got infected with COVID-19

・has had close contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days

・has had a fever of 37.5°C / 99.5°F or higher within the last 14 days

・has a body temperature that is more than 0.5°C / 1°F higher above normal for more than 4 days
 (Except in cases when diagnosed as posing no risk of infecting others.)

・has symptoms of discomfort in the sense of taste or smell, fatigue, breathlessness, or cold-like symptoms within the last 14 days

・has returned from abroad within 14 days

■ To NiaHomes Hosts ■

Before guests’ arrival and during their stay, please..

・have hand sanitizer available.

・clean and sanitize guest rooms and shared areas.

 (Don’t forget those frequently touched, such as tables, doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls for TVs or air conditioners)

・ensure ventilation of guest rooms and shared areas.

・make sure that you and those who live with you wash hands, gargle and wear a mask

・avoid close-contact settings with guests


【Please refrain from accepting guests in the following cases】

If you or anyone living with you:

・got infected with COVID-19

・has had close contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days

【When your guest is not feeling well】

If your guest is feeling unwell or has symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, or when suspected of getting COVID-19:

・request your guests (including all fellow travelers) to stay in the guest room and wear a mask all the time.

・contact a nearby medical institution or local call center, inform them of the situation and symptoms of your guest and follow the given instructions .

・prepare the guest book for submission to the healthcare center .
